Wicked or Weakness~Everybody Pray for Me

Wicked or Weakness ~ Erbody Pray 4 Me written April 19, 2017

Life can be brutally disappointing sometimes. It feels like every turn holds another hurdle, another loss, another blow. Just when I think, “Enough is enough, I can’t take any more,” I hit that moment of pause… and realize something: I’ve lost again. And sometimes, in that deep ache, it feels like everything is gone.

Life as I knew it before? It will never be the same. It’s changed in ways that scare me to my core.

The thing is I have a plan. But often, my plan and God’s plan don’t quite line up. It’s like trying to dance with someone who keeps changing the beat and you have to trust they know the steps better than you.

Sometimes God stops me in my tracks. Sometimes He bolts the door I was sure I needed to walk through. Sometimes He shocks me awake. And He always knows which way to reach me at just the right moment.

We are all placed on this earth for a purpose a personal, hand-crafted reason. A mission no one else can fulfill exactly the way we can. That’s why we were created one of one, not one of many. Your plan was designed for you and only you.

We all sin.

We all make mistakes.

We’ve all hurt someone sometimes without meaning to, sometimes knowing exactly what we were doing and wished we could go back and handle it differently.

Regret is universal.

There are times when life wounds us so deeply that we pull back from the world. We hide. We stop answering calls. We ignore friends and family because we can’t handle the pressure of their questions, their concern, or our own guilt.

We tell ourselves, “I just don’t want to burden anyone,” and we retreat further. But in doing that, we stop doing the very things we were made to do those God-given talents and joys that keep us connected to who we really are.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:13

God made you capable. Strong. Able to endure anything. Jesus understands because He endured everything. And He is on your side.

So pause for a moment. Think about the little things you used to love, but don’t make time for anymore. The places that once made you feel alive.

The people who lifted your spirit instead of draining it.

Think about the talents you have let collect dust. That’s closing yourself off from your purpose. The more you tap into your inner spirit, the more your gifts will burst out like a jack-in-the-box unexpected, joyful, powerful.

And here’s the thing: no matter how “small” the world says your gift is use it. No one else can do it like you.

You can’t live to meet your mother’s expectations, your father’s standards, your grandmother’s advice, your friends’ opinions, or your neighbors’ approval. You have to live for God… and you. You will never be “enough” for everyone else’s checklist but you can be content when you live aligned with His will.

When you carve out time for what you love, you will feel your confidence return. And if it doesn’t light you up? It’s okay to walk away from it.

It takes courage to do big things in this world. People will try to stop you. The enemy will absolutely try to stop you. He’ll use every means available fear, distraction, lies to derail you. That’s why you must keep God close.

In the end, you will win with Him.

Part of that victory is acceptance. Saying, “I accept this even if I don’t like it. I accept that it is part of my plan right now, and I give the future to God.” He’s got it handled.

Today is your gift. Live it exactly as He would want you to. And if you ever can’t decide what that looks like, ask yourself: What would Jesus do?

When you live fully on the path God set for you even with detours, even with delays you’ll find your dreams unfolding. And there, in the center of that journey, you’ll discover something even greater:

Life. Joy. Purpose.

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” — Exodus 14:14
