When the Tent Falls, the Spirit Stands

I am one of those who will go to the back of the line if it means putting the elderly in front. I’m one of those who will walk a little longer if it means someone else gets a ride. I have lost many opportunities making room for others to get ahead.


And still I feel content. I know my soul is unique, kind, and one-of-a-kind.


But lately, I’ve allowed bitterness to sneak into my mind. I’ve been watching the wicked prosper, simply because they refuse to make room for the underdog. To them, it’s all about their own abundance. They take from the world as if it belongs to them, and only them.


Some people carry greed like a badge of honor.

Others, blessed with insight and wisdom, live with just enough and still make a difference.

Some simply need guidance.

Some will take the whole path and still act lost.

📖 Colossians 3:23-25 (NIV) Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men... It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for his wrong, and there is no favoritism.

I’ve held on to pride. I began last year wanting to let it go. I’ll admit, in the past, I let pride open doors to anger even violence. But one thing has always remained: I have never had a callous heart. I’ve never been so arrogant that I wished evil upon someone who didn’t deserve it.

I’m no judge. But I will always root for the underdog and gladly step aside when I see someone else rise who needs it more.


This world isn’t mine or theirs.

It’s ours. 🌎


And though keeping a pure heart doesn’t always bring instant reward, I’m choosing to hold on to my innocence until I better understand this journey the one that leads to my true, eternal destiny.

📖 Proverbs 16:2 All a man’s ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the Lord.

Some lives seem easier. Health intact, bodies strong, faces unlined by suffering. Others? They carry burdens in bones and spirit. Chronic illness. Pain. Unexpected diagnosis. A body that betrays them. That kind of hardship? It changes everything.


When your health fails, it can feel like your world crumbles. Suddenly, you’re not who you were and the road ahead is unfamiliar. You have to surrender the fantasy, reshape the dream, and become your own hero. 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️

Grief is natural.

Pause.

Reflect.

Honor the shifts.


But don’t let fear paralyze you. You were made to evolve even when it doesn’t make sense.


The bitter may stay stuck in ignorance.

But when we flow with faith, a deeper understanding emerges. ✨


Remember who walks with you in flesh and in spirit.

Ask God for counsel.

And when the time is right, the light will flicker on. 💡



📖 Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Everything we cling to in this world is temporary. The only thing we’re truly taking with us… is our soul.


Let that sink in.


One thing I’ve learned recently:

My physical home is gone.

Our “tent” destroyed.


But the true structure we built? The one we invested in with love, sacrifice, and unity? That building is indestructible.


It’s the dwelling with the Lord, the bond with my family, the spirit that rises after every fall. These are things built not with hands but with heart. With resilience. With God’s grace.


We groan.

We cry.

We mourn the loss of what was…


But still we rise, clothed in dignity, even if our earthly clothes are torn and ash-covered.


“She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.” – Proverbs 31:25

Earthly things can be replaced.

But once your spirit is lost that’s when true loss takes root.

None of us are truly home yet. We’re all a little homeless, wandering and wondering.


Of course we can make a home but our true home is with the One who made us.


“We live by faith, not by sight.” – 2 Corinthians 5:7

If you’re only seeing the world through your eyes, you’re already blind to the truth.


One day, we’ll answer for everything we did in this body whether the world saw it or not.


God knows.


📖 Psalm 90:17 May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us, yes, establish the work of our hands.

And thank God for Jesus, for mercy, for grace…

Thank God for forgiveness. 🙌


If you’re of sound mind it’s up to you.

You decide.

Time has a way of teaching.

The older I get, the more I realize it’s about contentment.


To know the feeling of plenty and to remember the feeling of lack.

To live somewhere in the middle and know: either way, God is with me.


“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty… I have learned the secret of being content… I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:12-13
“Ask and it will be given to you… for the one who asks receives.” – Matthew 7:7-8

God doesn’t shame your doubt but He calls you to believe anyway.

Because when you doubt? You’re like a wave in the ocean tossed by the wind.


📖 James 1:12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial… he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.

And I do love Him.

Even when it’s hard.

Even when it hurts.

Even when I don’t understand.

Still, I believe.
