🌳 A Tree with Strong Roots Laughs at Storms September 17, 2015

“It is not easy to find happiness in ourselves, and it is not possible to find it elsewhere.” Agnes Repplier

The first impression I received when taking in this beautiful piece of artwork was strength. The kind that is rooted deep so deep, it tells a story.
The neck, carved like a solid wooden trunk, stands like the base of a mighty tree. You can feel the weight of growth born from bitter roots, weathered storms, and resilient seasons. 🌲

As I sat with this image, emotions stirred pride, reflection, admiration.
It’s powerful to witness someone’s growth, both as a human being and an artist. There’s something undeniably upward in the movement of this piece. It branches, it climbs, it ascends refusing to stay stagnant. Even when life doesn’t naturally lend itself to positive momentum, this artwork shows the will to reach for light anyway. 🌱
There’s a fearlessness here, especially in the search for love and the effort it takes to bloom fully into the version of oneself that love demands. To stand tall for another when they can't stand on their own that is courage. And from that courage blooms something rare and deeply respected.
Even the glowing yellow gaze in the portrait feels like a spiritual pursuit a longing for answers, for truth, for understanding. 🙏

Where do we even find those answers?
Which beliefs do we adopt, which do we let go of?
Understanding is a living thing never static, never finished.
It evolves, just like the seasons. 🍂
Nature teaches us this. The colors in this piece are rooted in earth, time, and transformation. The greens of the hair radiate energy new growth, new leaves, a revival. 🍃
There’s abundance here no shortage of hope or possibility.
Just like hair, we can cut off what no longer serves us and grow something entirely new in its place.

I hope that when eyes like these look outward, they always see my light.
I hope my presence shines as something vital, uplifting, and true a reminder of how powerful it is to be seen and loved without limits.
I want my love to inspire freedom to all I encounter: for you to be exactly who you are, in all your perfectly imperfect beauty. ✨

🙏 A Prayer for those who Walk with me ~
Dear God,
Please give me the strength to nurture this creative soul just as they are.
Let them heal from wounds that have hardened into thorns. May those thorns become anchors for trust instead of walls of defense.
Let strong branches remain open to those who have earned a place in their life.
Give them the ability to love themselves fully, and to believe in the goodness they bring to others. 💛

Let them always know how much they are appreciated for their greatness, their differences, and their giving heart. May they continue to shine a light that reminds others (and me) what we can always strive to become.
They are a sheltering tree for this family protective, wise, and real. 🌳
In moments when I feel too gentle or naïve, I’m grateful for the grounding force that keeps our world safe.
In Jesus’ name, Amen. ✝️

I’m thankful for the space I’m given to be soft, to be innocent, and to grow. Thank you to all those who love every side of me even the ones still under construction.
There’s so much yellow in this piece. So much light. So much energy.
The open heart in the center glows with a kind of divine aliveness just like the heart of a tree, pulsing from the inside out. 💛

If you are an artist :
Please keep creating. The world needs more of your voice, your color, your depth.
Like strong roots beneath a thriving tree your thoughts and emotions are deep, sacred, and radiant.
They live in every line, every stroke, every branch. 🌿
